Geoff the Fiddler

Press Kit
The Elevator Pitch
Geoff plays fiddle in and around Roanoke, VA. Geoff is from Western North Carolina, and combines elements of Celtic, Appalachian, and Cajun fiddling. The result is a unique and authentic American-Celtic style.

The Deets
Geoff was trained in classical violin starting at the age of four. As he grew older, he discovered he could apply what he learned to the Celtic music he and his grandmother loved so much. Benefitting from the environment around him in Western North Carolina, he also incorporated elements of Bluegrass, Old-Time, and the Cajun music his father listened to.
The result, after years of honing his style, is an authentic and unique American style of fiddling.
Geoff's main instrument is a Bohemian (modern Czech Republic) fiddle from the early 1800's.
Geoff has played in orchestras since he was a kid.
Geoff played fiddle and mandolin in Sugar Run, where he wrote "Leave the Bottle," and helped produce the album "Pounding Out A Tune."
Geoff recently wrote and published the rock single "What's it Called."
Geoff currently plays in four groups:
Solo as Geoff the Fiddler
Fiddle with the Deer Run Drifters
Guitar with the Jazz/Blues duo Red & White
Fiddle and Guitar with the Old-Time duo Hardtack & Seabiscuits
Geoff has also played drums with the 80's rock band Merchant Copy
